women and girls golf at Diss

Women in Golf Charter Certificate

We have a very friendly and inclusive ladies section at Diss, with players of all abilities, ages and experience. We are always looking to grow the section and introduce new players to this wonderful game.

We are delighted to be a Women in Golf Charter Signatory and work towards certain committments to develop women and girls golf, helping England Golf and the R&A to:

  • Encourage more women and girls to play the game and join clubs
  • Inspire more families to enjoy golf as a group leisure activity
  • Open up more opportunities for women to work within the golf industry

The majority of our female players traditionally meet on Wednesday mornings to play competitions and fun social golf and there is also an alternate day at the weekend (NTR) available for competitive golf, for those women that may work in the week. We usually try to stay and meet in the bar for coffee, cake or lunch after the morning’s activities and believe the social aspect is as important as the golf!

We enter teams in county competitions at every level, in the Haskell, Weston, Stearn, Cranworth and Senior Shield knockouts and there are many Ladies’ and Mixed friendly matches throughout the year against clubs from Suffolk and Norfolk.

We aim to encourage women and girls of all abilities and make our golf experience as enjoyable as possible! If you would like to try our course or return to play at DGC again, and would like to meet some of us - either for a game or a chat, please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you.
