Diss Golf Club

Welcome to Diss Golf Club

Founded in 1903, the Club, sited in Suffolk, is just to the south of the River Waveney, which forms the natural boundary between the Counties of Suffolk & Norfolk. This has ensured that ever since its formation, the Club has looked to Suffolk for its competition rather than Norfolk, the county in which the town stands.

Surviving two world wars and the recurring, daunting financial constraints of those early times, the Club is now thriving. The story of the first 100 years is recorded in an interesting book which was produced for the centenary year celebrations.

Diss has always been a members club, governed by a Management Committee, elected by the members to represent them and look after their collective interests. The Club has drawn its membership from across the social spectrum. It is open to all members of the public who wish to pay a subscription and who agree to abide by the club rules.

The current membership stands at over 650, with flourishing sections for Juniors, Ladies, Seniors and Men. Inter club friendly and County competitive matches are played throughout the year with our neighbouring clubs.

The course is considered one of the best prepared and maintained in our area, hosting a variety of championships and county finals in recent years. Rarely closed due to inclement weather, the course is a true test of golf for players of all abilities. While it looks gentle it has teeth for the unsuspecting and careless players!

The modern clubhouse with bar and restaurant, professional shop and practice grounds offer members and visitors the opportunity to while away their time before and after golf.
